Stakeholders
The Regional ITS Architecture resulted from the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, state, and national levels. It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system, with particular focus on agencies that operate transportation systems in the region.

DriveOhio | DriveOhio is Ohio's center for smart mobility. Ohio is home to dozens of public and private entities all involved in the design, development, testing, use and regulation of autonomous and connected technologies. DriveOhio brings all of these organizations together under one umbrella, serving as the hub for all things autonomous and connected in Ohio. Supported by the Ohio Department of Transportation, DriveOhio also works to ensure Ohio's regulatory environment and public policies are conducive to the development of the infrastructure and technologies needed for smart mobility. |

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) | Ohio EPA is responsible for establishing and enforcing standards for air, water, waste management and cleanup of sites contaminated with hazardous substances throughout the state of Ohio. |
Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) | Agency responsible for public safety of freeways, toll road, and state owned arterials. |
Ohio State University | Represents the various departments of the Ohio State University. Departments represented include the Department of Public Safety, the Transportation and Parking Services Department, and the Engineering Department. The Department of Public Safety provides law enforcement, security services, emergency management planning and other public safety services designed to enhance a safe and secure environment on campus. Transportation & Parking Services provides services and support to help create and maintain a safe and orderly campus environment for pedestrians and vehicle operators while also providing a broad range of parking and transportation services. Transportation & Parking consists of many different services designed to address the needs of the University community. These include Campus Area Bus Service; Charter Bus services; construction coordination as it relates to impacts to streets and parking areas; Handivan paratransit services; Vehicle rental services for departmental business; motorist assistance for campus customers; parking enforcement and traffic support; parking and vehicle maintenance services; special events management; traffic signal coordination and repair. The Engineering Department provides transportation research utilizing data from the Columbus Traffic Management Center (TMC). |

Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) | Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) regulates providers of all kinds of utility services, including rail and trucking companies. The PUCO and the Ohio State Highway Patrol work to ensure that commercial vehicles are traveling safely throughout Ohio. PUCO inspectors regularly conduct roadside safety inspections on CMVs and follow a thorough process to make sure both the driver and vehicle are compliant with state and federal regulations. |

Regional Event Operators | Represents special event sponsors and organizers that have knowledge of events that may impact travel on roadways or other modal means. Examples of regional event operators include sporting events, conventions, motorcades/parades, and public/political events. These operators interface to the ITS to provide event information such as date, time, estimated duration, location, and any other information pertinent to traffic movement in the surrounding area. |

Western Reserve Port Authority | The Western Reserve Port Authority operates the Youngstown–Warren Regional Airport. |
Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA) | WRTA provides transit service within the City of Youngstown, with bus service to outlying suburban shopping centers in Boardman, Austintown, Girard, and Liberty Townships. The WRTA transit system services all of the major activity centers inside the City of Youngstown, including shopping centers, hospitals, Youngstown State University and all Youngstown high schools. Their service area is approximately 150 square miles. WRTA serves over 365,000 people. |
